TRC Global Solutions Completes SAS 70 Type II Audit
Audit of control objectives and activities
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (June 8, 2011)
TRC Global Solutions, Inc. (TRC), a leading relocation management company, has been issued a Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type II report by its independent auditor, Baker Tilly.
SAS 70 is the authoritative guidance that allows service organizations to disclose their control activities and processes to their customers and their customers' auditors in a uniform reporting format.
In its report, TRC’s auditor, Baker Tilly, assessed those TRC controls that may be relevant to outside organizations; whether the controls were properly designed to achieve the control objectives; and whether the controls had been placed in operation as of July 1, 2010. The examination was performed in accordance with standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
According to AICPA, “A service auditor's examination performed in accordance with SAS No. 70 (also commonly referred to as a "SAS 70 Audit") is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control objectives and control activities, which often include controls over information technology and related processes.”
Importantly, SAS 70 is designated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an acceptable method for user organization's management to obtain assurance about the service organization's internal controls without conducting customer-specific assessments.
