Amy Bruns, CPA
Controller
TRC’s Controller, Amy Bruns plays an integral role in the company’s financial statement preparation, forecasting and budgeting, cash management, auditing and credit quality review.
Amy brought extensive financial experience to TRC. At Clever Ideas, Inc., a merchant finance company specializing in providing financing to restaurants and retail establishments, she served as Controller. There she was responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including review and analysis of monthly GAAP financial statements; design and implementation of internal controls; monitoring and analysis of restaurant financing portfolio; coordination of annual financial audit, annual lender audits and periodic state tax audits; and preparation of tax schedules and annual budgets.
At CNA Financial, she was a Senior Financial Analyst and part of a team responsible for GAAP/SEC financial reporting. She was responsible for authoring the Management’s Discussion and Analysis for all SEC filings and preparation of the financial supplement distributed to analysts and investors.
At GE Capital, she held several roles, including Senior Accountant with the Coregis Group, a national provider of property and casualty insurance specializing in the public entity market. There, she was responsible for GAAP and statutory financial reporting, including: preparation and analysis of monthly GAAP financial statements, preparation and analysis of statutory financial statements (Annual Statements, Quarterly Statements, and other miscellaneous statutory requirements), journal entries, month-end closing activities, Oracle GL maintenance, and accounting for all ceded reinsurance contracts.
Amy earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a concentration in accounting. She is a registered Wisconsin CPA and a member of WICPA (Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants).
